Playdates I (Unstructured + Structured Play)

This week it’s all about playdates. One of our listeners asks the question about how to help your kids when they are more reserved during recess time? Some kids can be more reserved and others can try to lead. Can we help equip our kids for unstructured playtime? 

What happens when your best friend moves, can you find a more subtle way to get contact information from your classmates, are all cul-de-sacs reminiscent of the Sandlot? Did Sara start the snail follower club on purpose?  What happens when other people’s kids misbehave and parents don’t act? Should your child put their most important toys away before playdates? Of course we talk about what it was like when we were younger, now with our own kids and what the supposed experts say. Raising kids truly is a four way game of tug of war, because it’s the three of us and all of you!
