S1E8 - S01E008: Sibling Fights

Hey Other Parents #008: Sibling Fights! Because it's Five Feet of Fury!

This week we are discussing what happens when kids get into arguments. It’s not easy but it’s part of the experience. Michael’s middle guy plays Portal, Barbie and He-Man go to lunch at the McDonalds Play set instead of an Epic Battle Against Skeletor, talking through the vents, Sara’s brother does something to her Barbie dolls, report cards, arguments about control, stealing brownies on plane and payback. We talk about protecting your siblings, how things change as adults, sleeping arrangements, finding a place to let it out, age gaps, and grab me a snack “while you’re up.” This is a big topic and we try to break it down while learning from one-another. So break out those boxing gloves because it’s time to throw down!

S1E7 - S01E007: Cooking With Your Kids

This week we are discussing cooking with the kids! Just like Ratatouille, we believe everyone can cook! Sometimes we even get inspired to put our frozen waffles in the toaster and other times we get inspired to warm up syrup with butter. Can one speck make a child question all food? Why doesn’t my 4 year old love Chicken Risotto like when they were 9 months old? Does smell impacts taste? We discuss Duff Goldman cookbooks, what spouses agree upon, our own bad habits, Spot Bakes a Cake, Fractions in the kitchen, and how compliments can go a long way.

We give ourselves a break because our generation has a different schedule and lifestyle. We discuss some small ways to have our kids help. Remember, it doesn’t need to be perfect to have a good time cooking with your kids!
